Meet Abby and Blake*

At 3 and 4 years old, Abby and Blake have already bounced from their biological mom to their grandparents to DFCS and finally a FaithBridge home.

Change is all they’ve known. Their biological mom had substance abuse issues, but their grandparents were able to obtain legal custody of them. Then a domestic violence issue erupted between their bio mom and grandparents and the siblings were placed in a DFCS home.

Shortly after, they had to move again. This time, though,  FaithBridge had an available foster home and Abby and Blake moved in with the Smith’s.

Their FaithBridge parents describe them as very affectionate. They like playing with each other and the Smith’s biological kids. Abby enjoys taking horseback riding lessons, and they both like jumping on the trampoline and playing outside.

Abby and Blake love their grandpa, talk about him, and enjoy having phone calls and visits with him. They hope to go home to live with him but they are also enjoying the time with their foster family.

There are around 8,000 children in Georgia like Abby and Blake who need safe, loving foster homes. Will you consider changing a child’s life by becoming a foster parent? Find out more at faithbridgefostercare.org.
