Meet Eric*
Four-year-old Eric used to live with his brothers, sisters and his mother while his father was in jail. Unfortunately, Eric’s mother was addicted to drugs, and their home was unfit for children with no electricity, no heat and frequently, no water. Eric and his siblings were separated and placed in different foster homes. During the last year, neither of Eric’s parents has visited him.
Little Eric has known more instability than any young child should ever have to experience…yet love still manages to explode from the heart of this boy with a contagious laugh. He is anything but shy and quiet and will always tell you what he is thinking. And it’ll probably come with a giggle.
Please pray for children who grow up with incarcerated parents. These circumstances often bring big challenges. But God is bigger! Pray that little ones like Eric are drawn into the healing arms of the God who created and loves them.
*Name and details have been changed to protect the child’s privacy. The child pictured above is not an actual foster child but instead represents one of the approximately 400,000 children on any given day that are currently in care.
