FaithBridge Foster Care announces a new partnership with Perimeter Church in Duluth

Alpharetta, GA (September 14, 2009) - FaithBridge Foster Care announced today that Perimeter Church in Duluth, Georgia has joined the FaithBridge community, becoming the organization's fifth partner church and the first in Fulton County. With over 4,500 members, Perimeter is now FaithBridge's third largest partner.

"We are thrilled to have Perimeter Church join the FaithBridge family," says Terence Chatmon, Chief Church Relations Officer for FaithBridge Foster Care. "Their model of discipleship aligns perfectly with our Community of Care model, and their desire to pursue ministries where they can have an impact makes them an ideal partner as we seek to a solution to the foster care crisis in this country."

The new foster care ministry will become part of Perimeter's existing adoption ministry, Promise686, which is named for Psalms 68:6 (NIV), "), "A father to the fatherless...God sets the lonely in families; he leads forth the prisoners with singing..." The ministry's mission is to mobilize and support Perimeter families and the surrounding community to serve the needs of orphans.

"Thanks to FaithBridge Foster Care, when an abused, abandoned or neglected child shows up at our church we know what to do," says Tim Ryder, Foster Care Advocate for Perimeter Church. "Through our foster and adoption ministry, Promise686, we are a part of the foster care crisis solution and we desire to deploy people in the communities we serve."

At a recent FaithBridge luncheon, Perimeter's Pastor David McNeely discussed Perimeter's decision to partner with FaithBridge, "I don't know how to equip people to be foster care parents. What I do know is that we as pastors and leaders in our church are called to equip God's people to do the work of the ministry. And that's what [FaithBridge] does."

Perimeter has set an aggressive goal for its ministry, hoping to serve 100 foster children over the next 18 months. "Perimeter has a real passion for transformation and a desire to take the ministry outside the four walls of the church," says Chatmon. "We're excited about helping them achieve their goals."
